is now open!

We're open every day to provide reliable acute care to our community and visitors alike. The Pāpāmoa Accident & Medical Walk-in Clinic is a bit different to your ordinary urgent care. It’s equipped to deal with minor accidents and illness and staffed with highly-qualified nurses. We match your ailment to the appropriate clinician to treat you (Nurse Practitioner or Extended Care Paramedic) and leverage telehealth to access expert emergency doctors to assist us right here in the Bay.

Frequently asked questions

Will you treat all patients who present onsite?

We will see and treat minor injuries and illness onsite. If you present with a condition that’s outside of our scope, we’ll connect you with the relevant service.

How much does it cost?

Fees differ depending on when you present at the clinic and whether CSC or ACC discounts apply. An adult consult between 8am - 8pm will cost you $89 (or $99 after 8pm/on weekends/public holidays). A child consult costs $49 regardless of time of day. International visitors are charged $150 if they present at the clinic between 8am - 8pm (or $180 after 8pm/on weekends/public holidays).

Will you enrol patients?

No, we are not a general practice. We want to support local GPs and enable patients to be seen whenever necessary but we do not offer the same continuity of care that they do. We always recommend having a regular family doctor.

Can I use the clinic if I’m not from around here?

Yes, we’re here for anyone who needs us - that includes holiday-makers passing through as well as residents.

How will my GP know what you prescribed if I need to come and see you?

Both the patient and their GP can be provided with a copy of their discharge summary.

If I’m already enrolled with a local GP can I still use the clinic after hours?

Yes, we’re open after-hours providing episodic care. The clinic is an alternate route to care when it’s needed but we always refer patients back to their GP for continuity of care.

Can I use the clinic if I’m not enrolled with a primary health provider?

Yes, as a walk-in clinic we will see and treat anyone. If you are local but un-enrolled we encourage you to enrol with a local practice that has open books.

Do you have any jobs available?

If you have a healthcare background, a positive attitude, and you're interested in working in this new innovative clinic, then please email recruitment@emergencyconsult.co.nz. Please include your CV and a covering letter to tell us a little about yourself and what you are looking for in your next job. Good luck!

What are your registration/payment terms?

All fees must be paid at the time of consultation. There maybe additional fees that will be payable following my consultation for medical testing, plastering, consumables and incidents. Please see our clinic policies for further detail.
